By using Helix Sommelier you agree to these terms. Helix Sommelier is a wine-exam revision resource operated by Helix Learning Ltd. There is a free tier you can use indefinitely.

Independence and trademarks

Helix Sommelier is an independent revision tool operated by Helix Learning Ltd. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, certified by, or accredited by the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET), the Wine Scholar Guild, or any other awarding body. “WSET”, “Wine Scholar Guild”, “French Wine Scholar”, “Italian Wine Scholar” and “Spanish Wine Scholar” are names and marks of their respective owners; we use them only to describe the exams Helix Sommelier prepares you for. Our questions are original and are not reproduced from any real WSET or Wine Scholar Guild examination.

Eligibility

Helix Sommelier is for people preparing for the WSET Awards in Wines or the Wine Scholar Guild certifications. Because it deals with wine and alcohol, you must be 18 or over to use it. One account per person.

Your account

• Keep your sign-in details to yourself.
• You're responsible for everything done under your account.
• Don't impersonate someone else or sign up with a name that isn't yours.

How you can use Helix Sommelier

For your own personal study, on devices you own or control. That's it. In particular, don't:

• Share your account, or share or republish our questions, explanations, or AI-generated marking feedback, including by scraping or bulk-downloading content.
• Use Helix Sommelier to build a competing product, train other models, or seed a question bank.
• Try to break the site, bypass rate limits, or use our AI endpoints for anything other than your own studying.
• Upload anything you don't have the right to share.

AI features

Some Helix Sommelier features, such as the tutor and the written-answer marker, use AI models from Google. Our questions and explanations are written and reviewed by wine educators; the AI features, by contrast, generate their responses live and are not individually reviewed, so they carry the greater risk of error. AI can be wrong. Treat AI output as a starting point for your own thinking, not as a source of truth. Always verify against the official specification, a reputable reference, or your course provider before relying on anything for an exam.

Content and intellectual property

The questions, explanations, marking, diagrams and design of Helix Sommelier belong to Helix Learning Ltd. Content you create on Helix Sommelier, such as your written answers and free-text notes, belongs to you; you give us a licence to store and process it so we can show it back to you and run the AI features you use.

Payment, cancellation and refunds

Helix Sommelier is free to use during its extended beta, and the free tier stays free for as long as you like. Paid plans are not yet on sale. If and when they open, the price and terms will be shown at checkout and this page will be updated first.

Any paid plan will be digital content you get access to straight away, so at checkout you would ask for immediate access and give up the statutory 14-day cancellation period. In its place we offer a 7-day money-back guarantee: if Helix Sommelier isn't for you, email us within 7 days of paying and we'll refund you in full, as long as you've only just started using it. We look at your usage on each request and decide in good faith.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that abuses the service, violates these terms, or causes us to incur unreasonable costs, for example by scraping or by hammering AI endpoints. You can delete your account at any time by emailing hi@helixsommelier.com.

Disclaimer and liability

Helix Sommelier is provided "as is". We don't guarantee it will be available, error-free, or fit for any particular exam outcome. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties and Helix Learning Ltd's liability to you is limited to what you have paid us in the previous 12 months, which during the beta is zero. Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited, for example death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be heard in the courts of England and Wales.

Changes

We may update these terms. If we change anything material we'll update the date at the top and surface a notice in-app the next time you sign in.
